RHEON™ is an energy-absorbing super polymer. Combined with computational design of functional geometries, it unlocks the potential for new levels of comfort and performance in motorcycle body armour.
As part of the design team, I helped progress RHEON™’s first Armour range, consisting of a 17-piece collection of body close armour. RHEON™ Armour is protection that is lightweight, comfortable and breathable whilst maintaining high performance standards; a revolution in body armour protection. The unique design of the products allows air to flow naturally around the rider, making RHEON™ Armour the most breathable protection on the market.
// Behind The Design
The computational design process utilised biomimetic algorithms to create a cellular structure that eliminated weak spots in the part and increased breathability without compromising on weight. The computational workflow also created a scalable system that could be applied across a full body armour range including limb, hip, chest and back protection.
I was responsible for the production tooling of all Level 2 limb protection including Hip, Shoulder, Knee and Elbow.
Using this workflow, the design time for each additional part was reduced from 2 months down to just one day.
